The Vickers from Japan are a revelation! Bursting with talent, fury and wonderful musicianship, they are destined for the top. This recording features some of the best music we've had through the editorial office in years, it's as simple as that!

It's something quite refreshing when you receive an album for review that has so much to offer than the run of the mill, one potential hit single and the rest, album fillers....it's something that we welcome with open arms.

The opening track 'Wicked Little Dictator' sets the scene, with it's cacophony of guitar, attacking the senses from all directions. Nicely put together and played at speed, the instrumental is the perfect vehicle to showcase their abilities as musician's. This isn't a punk band, it's not a metal band, it's a pure, high-energy rock n roll outfit that wants to rock your hearts out!

'Annie Ripper' [playing] is the stand out track on the release, sung by Annie, the female bassist....she tells it like it is!....''Annie's a Ripper''...indeed!

The rest of the album follows much of the same theme, fast and furious, soft and sweet, hard and loud...you could go on and on trying to define this band, but Hey! Why Bother? They kick ass....enough said!

A wonderful version of the Motorhead classic 'Bomber' closes the action in the manner that it began.

If you haven't heard The Vickers before, do yourself a favour, and tell 'em we sent ya...
