Dear Superstar Live In Manchester

By Chris Röckson

Dear Superstar are on the verge of something fucking great! They know it and we know it...they've been around for what seems like a lifetime, but in reality, ain't all that long really, but they've achieved more than most would in a couple of lifetimes. They've been out on the road with Hanoi Rocks, Papa Roach, Motley Crue, Metallica and Buckcherry, not to mention KISS and Aerosmith....Impressive eh?

Tonight, they're in their 'almost' hometown of Manchester, on a three band line-up with Jett Black and Grinspoon, and their debuting new Bass Guitarist Ben, recently joined to replace the previous guy, who apparently 'lost interest'....?? How?

This band can roll and they rock like motherfuckers too! Micky Satiar knows how to work the crowd, and tonight, they have a good sized following down the front for him to ply his trade. He has the winning combination of looks and personality, that put him in the same league as all of the aforementioned mega-bands. The band is tight tonight and the blast out their set with vigour...it's great to watch these guys on-stage, they actually look like they're having the time of their fucking lives up there...you know what? They ARE!!!

Tonight's set is a short one, as opening act you get a limited timeslot, and they have to make the most of it....which is exactly what they do....Job Done Fellas!

Jett Black have one lesson to learn and learn fast....Stadium Rock belongs in stadiums, not small venues. Yawn!

Grinspoon, we actually missed their set as we were doing a deal across the road for some forthcoming interviews for the mag. From what I heard, we didn't exactly miss much either...well, we came to see Dear Superstar afterall....support your local Superstars!
