New York Dolls - 'Dancing Backward In High Heels'

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm.....Ok, so....I get what they're trying to do here...or do I? Life is so very simple when you know what to expect from a band. I mean, c'mon..?? New York Dolls?? THE most influential band from NYC's Pre-Punk Era....it's gotta be guitars right? WRONG!!!

Johansen and Sylvain, affectionately referred to these days as the 'TWO YORK DOLLS' have cobbled together an album that is so far removed from anything and everything you've ever heard before under that name, thrown together a couple of 60's girl group sound-alike songs and some extremely 'dodgy' sounding tracks, that if were released back in the day, we would never have heard of the New York Dolls, as they woulda sunk without trace.

This 'album', offers Syl, ''is the most creative we've ever done....'' No shit Sherlock! Its also the fuckin' worst by a country mile Syl...c'mon...creative? It's utterly depressing to listen to this 'mediocrity gone wild'.

The double whammy loss of Messrs. Yaffa and Conte, signals the end of the Dolls, and even with the  introduction of ex-Blondie guitarist Frankie Infante, the sound is not a patch on the previous line-up. Some of the material on this debacle sounds as though it was written on the toilet in the studio....they even 'fess up to bringing in a couple of singers from a local pub to help out....Sheez!

The PR states - ''as far as song-writing goes, I think that these are the best songs that we have ever come up with''....Holy fuckin' guacamole Batman, if that's the case, I can't wait to hear the next one!!!

No, No, No, No, no.....this is just wrong!
